Intelligent Intrusion Detection System (In2DS)

As part of the National level Ubiquitous Computing initiative, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is currently executing a major R&D project entitled "Establishment of National Level Ubiquitous Computing Research Resource Centres" with the support of Department of Information Technology (DIT). Under this project C-DAC has developed a application titled “Intelligent Intrusion Detection System (In2DS)” to cater to the growing demand for surveillance application.

This Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) based system provides improved monitoring and alarm functionality, reduced manual intervention and wider sensing coverage. The system is integrated with various energy efficient and reliable algorithms which further enhances the detection capabilities and life time. Moreover, the use of sensor networks in event detection resulted in fault tolerant, scalable, unattended and easy to deploy system with reduced communication failures. Event based video surveillance capability of the system reduces the amount of unwanted data accumulation and storage hassles. User notifications about detected events are relayed through multiple channels including Web and Clientele (mobile based) devices.
